about

Bless You, Little Tyrant is an outstandingly mature and fully fleshed out project in spite of its humble beginnings as a solo project that was conscientiously not too noisy as to not irritate new flatmates. These sonic restrictions were harnessed into a set of paradoxically noisy tracks, typified by Torben Melohn’s quasi-demonic spoken word passages and semi-whispered singing.

Melohn’s instrumental prowess is demonstrated in the frequently shredding guitars that lie back awash in a mix of shaking snares, brutalising synths and fizzing electronics. This technical ability is swirled with aplomb into Melohn’s ear for strange melody, a keen and wonderfully literary sense for lyric writing and an evident aptitude for abrasive production in a way that provides captivating and quick sonic landscapes.

Having originally been released with no label, Melohn contacted Dead Hound Records as an admirer (and unknowingly at the time, a friend from school), and so, we would like to present to you the second coming of a project we genuinely love: Neumann Prime’s Bless You, Little Tyrant.
