Swedish musician and producer Niklas Mellgren (Fern) is an artist we’ve loved for a long time here at Dead Hound Records. His first release with us, "Abstract Safar,"i paints a wonderous scene of dense noise, composed on analogue hardware without the use of any digital software. In July 2020, he followed this up by producing a droning ambient piece to counter the more glitchy and abrasive split side of his cassette with Glasgow-based experimentalist Yu.

On Natura Omnes Alliciant, Fern reveals a more rhythmic side, displaying an aptitude for producing noise and ambient with slightly more ‘accessible’ elements. The hypnotics of the illusionistic album artwork are reflected with aplomb in the often distorted and squelching programmed drums that run through the early sections of the project. The sonic diversity splayed across the projects less than twenty minutes is as impressive as the work itself is engaging.
