sforza gramsci is a sound collage project based in edinburgh, scotland. sonically, its works aim to pay tribute to the italian noise and industrial pioneers of the 1980s onwards, using their works as an inspirational springboard for experimentation. 'krankheit im recht' was inspired by the history & theories of the socialist patients' collective (sozialistisches patientenkollektiv / spk), a left-wing anti-psychiatry group active in germany since the 1970s. while not necessarily seeking to endorse nor criticise the collective, this release was recorded & heavily influenced by an obsession with their story, and it was produced as a way of presenting this mental preoccupation as a sonic experience. warped beats, field recordings and historical samples combine in an eclectic aural tapestry to reflect the artist's mood at the time of production.
