Austin Barnes returns with hands-down the most ambitious contribution to his ever-expanding oeuvre to date. "The Draculus Gate" is a concept album set in a futuristic, apocalyptic and haunted United States. This dismal future is brought to life by a clever combination of disorienting radio interludes (performed by friends to a script written by Barnes) with exploratory music which erratically shifts everywhere from shoegaze to electropop.

"Set in a demon, scorpion and ghoul-infested America entering election season, The Draculus Gate plays out like some sort of dystopian radio broadcast, where tracks are broken up by quirky interludes, news-style interview broadcasts and witty skits.
